Machine Learning and BioStatistics is one of the topics with the biggest gaps in course availability and training material quality (according to ELIXIR survey results from 2019). That is why ELIXIR organizes a hackathon to prepare materials for practical training in this field. The materials will be designed following the policies and guidelines of the ELIXIR Training Platform.
The first part of the hackathon (12/10/2020) will be focused on drafting a framework for practical training materials, including defining training goals, expected outcomes, and participants’ profile. The second part (2/11/2020) will have the purpose of finalizing the materials and designing exercises for hands-on training.
Materials authored during the hackathon will be publicly available through GitHub, under a CC-BY license, to be reused both within and outside ELIXIR.

ELIXIR HPC Hackathon 2021

High-performance computing (HPC) is one of the areas where the ELIXIR Training Platform has recently identified training gaps. There is a shortage of available courses and training materials. To address this we will organize a two non-consecutive days ELIXIR Training Hackathon with the aim of preparing or adapting existing training materials on the subject, similar in style to the (HPC) carpentry. We are inviting domain and training experts that are familiar with ELIXIR Training Platform activities to join the effort.
